Inspired by Nicole Laby’s unfinished solo album, Love, Death & Other Issues (copyright 2000), the songs on Now Am I Real? push and prod at the questions that float in the collective unconscious. Who am I? What makes me feel? What makes me real? With an alt-rock/folk sound, Laby explores the themes of romance, death of a loved one, and the haunting fantasy sensation of feeling half human, half metallic.
